Bologna have confirmed the importance of Lewis Ferguson in Vincenzo Italiano’s side by handing him a new contract that will keep him at the Stadio Dall’Ara until 2029.
The Scotland international has only just returned to action after more than six months out with an ACL injury but his sidelines have not affected his status as one of the Rossoblu’s most important players despite the change of coach.
Bologna have confirmed in an official statement that they have reached an agreement with Ferguson to extend his contract until June 30, 2028, with the option to extend for a further season.
The 25-year-old joined Bologna from Aberdeen in the summer of 2022 and has scored 13 Serie A goals in his first two seasons at the Stadio Dall’Ara. Establishing himself as one of the most consistent and productive midfielders in Italy.
He recently returned for his team in a 1-0 win over Lecce before the Champions League clash a few days later. Promotion ufabet coming on as a second-half substitute in both games.
However, a knee injury in April ended Ferguson’s season early and denied him the chance to play for Scotland at Euro 2024.
Prior to that he was linked with some of Italy’s biggest clubs including Juventus, now lead by former Bologna manager Thiago Motta.
